Environmental Health Nuisance Complaint

The Martin County Health Department is dedicated to maintaining a healthy and safe environment for all residents. One of the ways we achieve this is by addressing environmental health nuisances through our Nuisance Complaint program. This service allows community members to report conditions that may pose health risks or degrade the quality of life in our county.

What Constitutes a Nuisance?

Nuisances can vary widely but generally include conditions that can harm health, safety, or well-being. Common examples include:

  • Uncontrolled Waste: Accumulation of garbage, debris, or hazardous waste that can attract pests or create health hazards.
  • Unsanitary Conditions: Properties with severe mold growth, sewage overflows, or lack of sanitation facilities.
  • Vector Control: Issues with rodents, mosquitoes, or other pests that can spread disease.
  • Noise Pollution: Excessive noise that disrupts the peace and well-being of the community.
  • Air Quality Issues: Uncontrolled burning or emissions that pollute the air.
