Tobacco Prevention & Cessation
The aim of the Tobacco Use Cessation and Prevention Program is to enhance public health by:
- Preventing the initiation of tobacco use among youth.
- Encouraging individuals to quit tobacco use.
- Safeguarding our families, friends, and community from the perils of secondhand smoke.
- Collaborating with community leaders to promote strategies for safeguarding the community against the risks associated with tobacco use.

Additionally, we offer tobacco prevention education in schools and aid in the development of policies related to tobacco regulations, policies, and city/county ordinances. Annually, we equip tobacco retailers with materials from the FDA’s “This is Our Watch” campaign to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations governing the sale of tobacco products.
